‘SFC should recommend to government to allocate funds’
Hyderabad: K Swamy Goud, Chairman of Telangana State Legislative Council, urged the State Finance Corporation to recommend to the government to allocate the required funds to civic bodies for taking up development works. He was participating in a conference of all municipal chairpersons/commissioners and Commissioner/Director, Municipal Administration, organised by the Telangana State Finance Corporation (SFC) at Institute of Engineers, Khairatabad on Wednesday.
He appealed for according due respect to the municipal chairpersons at all government functions, as per the protocol. Suresh Chandra, Member-Secretary of SFC, said a plea by the municipalities seeking 100 per cent reimbursement of tax revenue and to increase the grants should be submitted in writing. Inaugurating the conference, M Chennayya, SFC member, suggested that municipal chairpersons and commissioners should raise their own resources for providing better services to people.
He advised them to submit memoranda on problems facing the civic bodies and how their working could be improved. Addressing the participants, G Rajesham Goud, Chairman,Telangana SFC, stated that all municipalities in the State would be developed following the decision taken by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to allocate Rs1,000 crore to them.
