Metro Rail works between Ameerpet-Hitec City stretch reviewed
Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) Managing Director NVS Reddy, along with L&TMRHL MD KVB Reddy, conducted a review meeting on the progress of the finishing works and on the results of various tests, safety parameters and trial runs of the 10 km stretch between Ameerpet and Hitec city at Metro Rail Bhavan, Begumpet on Friday.
After finding the results of safety tests and trial runs satisfactory, NVS Reddy advised L&TMRHL to get the necessary safety certification from the French company M/s. Thales, which provided the CBTC (Communication Based Train Control) technology for Hyderabad Metro and from the Internal Safety Assessor M/s. Halcrow.
He has further instructed L&TMRHL engineers to complete all the necessary documentation and immediately submit them to the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) for his mandatory safety inspection of the section for opening it for passenger operations in the next few weeks. After the safety clearance of the section by CMRS, the Chief Minister’s office will be approached for fixing the inaugural date, he added.
HMRL Chief Electrical Engineer DVS Raju, Chief Engineer Pancham, Chief Project Manager B. Anand Mohan, Superintending Engineer M. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy and GM (Works) B.N. Rajeswar; L&TMRHL Project Director M.P. Naidu and other senior engineers of HMRL and L&TMRHL participated in the review meeting.
