Upholding values in public life
The occasion was launch of ‘Navyandhra my journey’ by IYR Krishna Rao on Sunday last at Vijayawada. As usual the house was packed and the audience listened to the dignitaries with rapt attention punctuated by apt applause all over. The guest of honour was Justice Chelameswar known for his original thinking and outspokenness. He successfully and singlehandedly aroused the national conscience for independent judiciary. The occasion was graced by distinguished former bureaucrats like Ms Chandana Khan, Murali Sagar, M Gopalkrishna, Ajeya Kallam who shared their convictions.
Another eminent guest was V Ramu Sarma – Editor, The Hans India who spoke with passion and lucidity. The common thread binding all these dignitaries is their unwavering commitment for upholding values in public life and clean governance. None of them are flamboyant or aggressive personalities. They are all rather soft individuals with remarkable moral courage and inner strength. The well organised and attended function was presided over by former MP Undavalli Arun Kumar who is known for his inimitable way for presenting things with facts, figures and fire. The function was not a routine one but a feast to the eyes and ears to see and hear such well- meaning people. - Vinay Bhushan Bhagwaty, Hyderabad
