Do we need a cabinet?

Update: 2019-01-30 05:30 IST

It is timely observation that as there are no ministers , with the Secretariat looking as desert without any hulchul ( The Hans India,29/1). Inspite of this ,TS government is running nicely without any problems or administrative standstill or shut down as everything is going smoothly in all government offices including successful Gram Panchayat elections as one Chief Minister and one Home Minister running the government with satisfaction and all development works going smoothly. Hats off to government employees for running the government without ministers.

What does this indicate? We don’t need ministers to run the government. By not appointing ministers with cars, staff, allowances etc government of TS saved a lot of budget and this can be utilised for farmers and students fee reimbursement or other welfare activities. This reveals how our budget is being wasted on ministers, their perks and other comforts enjoyed by them.

I am sure TS with a CM and only one minister running government successfully without any break to services to people is a role model for other states as it not only saves budget but also clears differences  and disappointments among MLAs for not getting ministries as everyone desires to become minister.

But in a democracy people’s representatives have to rule with the assistance of employees as government is of the people, by the people and for the people. But TS govt has broken this for the last one and half months by restricting people’s representatives to just two!
