TCA urges KCR to curb Vivek
Hyderabad: The simmering discontent, not with standing, The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) on Friday began firing cylinders from all corners against the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) President Dr G Vivekanand for ‘killing’ the dreams and aspirations of budding players from across Telangana State.
Unleashing a fiery onslaught TCA General Secretary Dharam Guruva Reddy released a strongly worded statement whereby he lambasted Vivek’s ‘canards’ with regard to the meeting TCA and HCA officials had with CoA representatives in Mumbai on Wednesday.
Stating that Vivek’s statements were highly distorted versions, Guruva Reddy pointed out that as a participant in the crucial meeting he could accuse first-hand of Vivek indulging in cheap tactics to stay afloat.
Countering the arguments of Vivek, word for word, Reddy stated that the unpreparedness of HCA stood exposed when they failed substantiate their points of view at the crucial meeting with CoA administrators.
It was ridiculous that Vivek was not even aware of the fact that Telangana State had 31 districts, Reddy said, adding that HCA was running fraudulently.
Pointing out that Vivek’s conflict of interest was destroying the very fabric of the sport, Reddy wondered how the State Government was silent when its advisor was heading an entity like HCA and trying to abuse power by conducting tournaments that did not enjoy legal sanctity.
He urged the Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao, to intervene and take steps to ensure that Vivek would cease to be a part of HCA, particularly as he was doing precious little to promote the gentleman’s game in Telangana State because of which talented players from the districts had become a frustrated lot.
