HCA Administrators’ panel report submitted to HC

Update: 2018-02-06 10:40 IST

The Administrators’ Committee, appointed by the High Court at Hyderabad, comprising Justice (Retd) Anil Ramesh and Justice (Retd) Seetapathi to look into the functioning of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) submitted its report to the Court on Monday.

After perusing the report, the Court felt that Justice Lodha committee recommendations, it seemed, were not being implemented by the HCA completely. It underlined the need to take the cooperation of BCCI to get these recommendations implemented fully.

The division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice K Vijayalakshmi made these observations on Monday, while hearing the Public Interest Litigation petition filed by an advocate Govind Reddy, seeking a direction from the court to appoint an administrator to oversee the Test match to be held in January 2017 as there were two factions in HCA fighting over the body.

The High Court had then appointed an Administrators’ Committee comprising these two retired judges to look into the entire issues relating to functioning of HCA, including whether the Supreme Court appointed Justice Lodha Committee recommendations are being implemented or not.

The bench after perusing the report submitted by the Committee, directed the petitioner’s counsel and the Respondents to file their replies to it and adjourned the case by three weeks.
