KCR: Will seek to link MNREGA to agriculture sector

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday addressed the farmers at Rythu Samanvaya Samithi meeting in Hyderabad where he stated that a resolution would be passed in Telangana Assembly seeking to link the centrally-sponsored MNREGA to the agriculture sector and will be sent to the Centre.

Flaying the Modi-led government at the Centre for failing to take measures for the welfare of the farmers, KCR mentioned having discussed the issues of farmers with Prime Minister Narendra Modi but added that so far the Centre has not come up with any scheme.

Citing that miracles are needed to transform the lives of farmers, he said that Rythu Samanvaya Samithis is to ensure farmers benefit from their agriculture produce. 

The Chief Minister even asserted that the TRS government has set the process in motion to set up Food Processing Units in every Assembly constituency adding that rice planting machines will also be extended on subsidy to the farmers.
