Two VROs, a revenue inspector suspended

Warangal: The services of two village revenue officers (VROs) and a revenue inspector (RI) in Elkaturthy mandal of Warangal Urban district were placed under suspension for allegedly committing irregularities and negligence of duties.

District Collector Amrapali Kata on Tuesday issued orders under sub-rule (1) of Rule 8 of Telangana State Civil Services (CCA) Rules, 1991, suspending revenue inspector M Sridhar, the VROs - S Chandramouli and S Thirupathi of Jeelugula and Bavupet villages respectively.

It was said that the Collector had recently inspected the tahsildar office at Elkaturthy. During inspection, she found that the VROs in question have committed certain irregularities in exercising their duties in land records updation programme (LRUP) in their respective villages, due to which illegal pattadar passbooks and title deeds were generated.

The VROs were said to have failed to attend their duties in accordance of the Job Chart of village revenue officers issued by the government through GOMs. No.1059, Revenue Department and acted in contravention of Rule-3 and 4 (i) of TSCS (Conduct) Rules, 1964.

The RI, Sridhar, was accused of showing lethargic attitude in attending his duties and failed as a team leader. Because of his failure to supervise the subordinate staff, illegal passbooks and title deeds were generated.

He was said to have failed to attend his legitimate duties in accordance with the Job Chart of village revenue officers issued by the government through GOMS No. 3, Revenue Department (Serv-III) and acted in contravention of Rule-3 & 4 (i) of TSCS (Conduct) Rules, 1964.

The actions of the above officials have led to recommendation for issuance of pattadar passbooks to lands belonging to dead persons, sold out lands and some lands involved in court cases.  

Those, who were placed under suspension, were restricted from leaving the headquarters without obtaining prior permission of the Collector as long as the orders were in force and an enquiry into the allegations was not over.

The orders would remain in force until the conclusion of the disciplinary proceedings. If the accused officials failed to submit their written statement of defence on or before prescribed date, further action would be processed based on the material available.
