Two arrested, stolen ornaments recovered

Khammam: Khammam Two Town and CCS police on Monday claimed to have arrested a person who was allegedly involved in various theft cases. According to Police Commissioner Tafseer Iqbal, the accused, Munigandla Vijay Kumar alias Chinna (29), is the resident of Bhagat Singh Nagar, Chintal in Hyderabad. He was found residing in a house near RTC bus station in Kothagudem when he was arrested.

 The police arrested Vijay Kumar during vehicle checking at NTR Circle here when he was found moving under suspicious circumstances. During interrogation, he admitted to have committed several theft cases, the police said.

The police claimed to have recovered from 40 tola of gold ornaments and 16.5 tola of silver articles, all worth Rs 12 lakh. A two-wheeler was seized from him, the police said.

Chain-snatcher arrested: In another incident, the CCS police and Khanapuram Haveli police claimed to have arrested a chain-snatcher near the Sri Sri Circlc in Khammam on Monday.

The accused was identified as Duggiral Suryanarayan alias Balaram (26) resident of Cheruvu Bazar in Khammam During vehicle checking, police arrested Suryanarayana who was allegedly involved in one chain snatching case near Railway station. The police claimed to have recovered a gold chain worth Rs 60,000 from his possession.

Police Commissioner Tafseer Iqbal appreciated the police team Assistant Sub-inspector Ch Lingaiah, Head Constables Md.Sadiq and D Danial and Constables Ch. Srinivas Rao and S Raj Kumar for arrested the accused.
