TRS not for all and sundry: Talasani Srinivas Yadav

Hyderabad: Even as there are talks about senior Congress leader M Mukesh Goud joining the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), some of the ruling party leaders in the city do not seem to be happy about the idea and are said to be trying their best to prevent the Congress leader from entering the party fold.

It may be recalled that the TRS has taken up a fresh round of ‘Operation Aakarsh’ with an eye to woo senior Congress leaders and former Chief Minister late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy’s loyalists in the city into the party. Former minister Danam Nagender was the latest to join the TRS.

There were talks that another senior leader and former minister M Mukesh Goud is also slated to join the TRS at any time. The TRS leader and MLC Mynampally Hanumanth Rao met Goud at his birthday party leading to speculations that he might be joining the TRS soon.

However, shocker came in from Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav, who said the gates of TRS were not open for people like ‘Yellaiah-Mallaiah’ when asked whether Mukesh Goud was joining the party during in an interview to a local TV channel. Srinivas Yadav said, “Even the Chief Minister has been saying that the TRS was not in a situation to take every other politician into the party.

Where can we accommodate them when already there are able leaders in the party?” The Congress leader hailing from a backward community has been a prominent face of the party in the city. Goud’s entry would mean direct competition to Yadav during the distribution of ministerial posts.

Already C Krishna Yadav joined the TRS who had also served as a minister earlier in the Telugu Desam Party government in united Andhra Pradesh along with Yadav. Apart from this, Yadav is said to be trying for a ticket for his son from the TRS, according to sources.

Sources said a Member of Parliament was seriously trying to see Mukesh Goud’s entry into the TRS. The MP is said to have discussed this with the senior TRS leaders, but a green signal is yet to come. While the MP is trying for Goud’s entry, a city Minister is said to be against his joining. A TRS MLA said there were many Congress leaders ready to join the party but the party was not in urgency and would move cautiously.
