2 Amarnath pilgrims from TS, AP dead

Hyderabad/Srikakulam: Two pilgrims, one each from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh died while on Amarnath yatra on Sunday. According to sources, one Lakshmi Bai, 54, a resident of Hyderabad, complained of chest pain at Baltal base camp in the morning. She was immediately rushed to a medical centre where she died of cardiac arrest while undergoing treatment.

A 72-year-old pilgrim from APHB colony in Srikakulam Sahukari Ravindranath Chowdary also died of illness. He set out to Amarnath along with his wife Bhuvaneshwari on June 18. They visited Amarnath on July 3 and later Ravindranth fell ill and was admitted to a hospital in Soura.

He died while undergoing treatment on Sunday, his daughter Shukari Sumana told The Hans India in Srikakulam. The victim's son Kiran rushed to the place on learning about the death of his father.
