TVV seeks basic facilities in BC women’s hostel

Khammam: District convenor of the Telangana Vidyarthi Vedika (TVV), T Swathi here on Thursday demanded that the government provide basic facilities in the BC Women’s College hostel situated in Khammam city.

The representatives of the TVV submitted a memorandum to District BC Welfare Officer Hrushikesh Reddy here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, Swathi alleged that there were just four toilets for about 200 students staying in BC Women’s College hostel and they were facing a lot of hardships and there was no mesh to windows in the hostel due to which the students had been suffering from various ailments caused by mosquito bites. 

“They are not even following the menu and are changing it every day due to which the students are not getting balanced diet and are facing problems of malnutrition,” she alleged. The hostel wardens were not discharging their duties perfectly and not maintaining the timings allotted to them, she pointed out.

She demanded that the government take immediate action and provide basic facilities in the BC Women’s College hostel, else they would intensify their agitation. The TVV leaders Pavithra, Ajitha, Shirisha, Sunitha, Pujitha, Bhavani, Uma and Jyothi were present along with others.
