Make efforts to get Suryapet declared ODF: Collector
Suraypet: District Collector K Surendra Mohan here on Tuesday directed the officials concerned to ensure hundred per cent achievement in construction of personnel toilets in all the villages by October 2. It would enable the administration to declare Suryapet as ODF district.
The Collector was reviewing the status of ODF in the district at a meeting with MPDOs, Gram Panchayath Special Officers and Gram Panchayath Secretaries at the Collectorate meeting hall here.
Speaking on this occasion, Surender Mohan stressed the need to pay attention to achieve hundred per cent results in the construction of personnel toilets in all the villages in the district by October 2 which is the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. He said the State government was determined to ensure the success of the programme.
He advised officials concerned to make all necessary arrangements to make the State government program Velugu a grand success. As a part of programme, a total of 27 teams will visit all villages and conduct eye tests and eye operations free of cost, he said. He asked the officials to make necessary plans for the construction of Gram Panchayath buildings in newly formed 155 Gram Panchayaths in the district.
He also directed officials to make arrangements to establish nurseries in Gram Panchayaths in the district to plant saplings in a huge number under 5th phase of Harit Haharam DMHO Kalavathi, RDOs Mohan Rao and Bixhu Naik, MPDOs, Mandal and Gram Panchayath Special Officers and Gram Panchayath Secretaries participated.
