VVPAT audit will be at every poling booth: Collector

Suryapet: District Collector K Surendra Mohan on Tuesday said that the Voter Verified Audit Trail (VVAT) is going to be arranged in every polling booth in the district to avoid irregularities in the upcoming Assembly elections.

On Tuesday, he held a meeting with representatives of all political parties with regard to management of EVMs, control units and VVPats. Speaking on this occasion, the Collector informed that the voter verification pats along with EVMs and control units going to be used this time to avoid irregularities during the casting of votes. 

As many as 1470 VVpads made by BHEL will reach on 18th of this month. Officials will examine the functioning of VV pats in the presence of the Joint Collector.

Representatives of all recognised parties will be allowed to witness the function of VV pats and date will be intimated four days in advance, he added He urged all political parties to extend their cooperation for conducting of upcoming Assembly elections in a peaceful environment.

He informed that the booth level officers will be availed at all polling centers on 15 ,16th of this month and take objections and corrections with regard to tentative  voters list.

Stating people who attain age of 18 are eligible to register as voters, he informed that grievances from public with regard to draft voters list will be taken up to 25 of this month. 

He directed officials concerned to provide a copy of tentative( draft) voters’ list to all political parties .Collector Surendra Mohan clarified all the doubts raised by the representatives of political parties during the meeting. Among the attendees were DRO Chandriah, RDO SMohan Rao, Tahsildhar Mahamood Ali and leaders of various political parties.
