BJP to rope in dab hands to frame poll manifesto
Hyderabad: In a bid to step up its political activity Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to rope in prominent people and experts from different fields to finalise its election manifesto for the ensuing State Assembly elections.
According to party sources, people like industrialists, educators, lawyers, social workers, professors and teachers from the field of education, people's organisations and the like were invited for a meeting which would be chaired by the party State president Dr K Laxman and other senior leaders.
The meeting will discuss various issues which would be beneficial for the people of the State. But, the main focus of the meeting would be in line with the popular agenda over which people from various sections had fought for a separate State. This includes creation of jobs for the youth, welfare schemes for different sections of people and development agenda for the State.
Speaking to The Hans India, a senior party leader said the meeting would also discuss the schemes launched by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government in last four years, failures in their implementation and their impact. However, the party would like to take a brainstorming in improving the schemes like Rythu Bandhu, to come up ideas about how farmers could reap the benefits in more ways. This was by integrating crop insurance, Prime Minister Fasal Bhima Yojana (PMFBY) and other Central schemes and also to integrate different components of the Central Supported Schemes (CSS) and adding value from the State resources, he added.
That apart, the BJP was also mulling to give a fillip by addressing the issues related to SC, ST and BCs, which would be its main poll plank. Besides, the party also wanted to highlight on its agenda to address the issues related to the young voters. The party has considerable support from the youth in several urban and rural pockets across the State.
And, "Several programmes of the Central government and the development agenda of the party at the Centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been drawing consistent support from the youth for the last four years. So, the manifesto would also highlight party's commitment towards the welfare and development of youth," he said. A draft manifesto would be prepared which would be further discussed with the party central leadership which would be likely announced by party president Amit Shah, the sources said.
