Farmer electrocuted, kin stage protest

Vikarabad: A farmer named Shankar Naik who resides at Kotha Tanda of Tharur mandal was killed in his field due to electrocution on Sunday. The dead body was sent to the government hospital at Vikarabad for post mortem. The family members, along with the dead body, sat in protest in front of district electricity office and demanded compensation. They alleged that the accident occurred due to negligence of electricity authorities.  

Later, police suggested the electricity authorities to pacify the family of deceased and take necessary action.  The family withdrew their protest after the authorities of electricity department promised to pay compensation and take necessary measures to prevent such accidents in future.
