BC welfare hostels lack basic facilities in district: Student Federation of India
Khammam: Due to lack of even minimum facilities in the BC welfare hostels in the districts, the inmates facing a lot of problems, alleged Student Federation of India (SFI) district secretary Thalla Nagaraju on Friday.
The representatives of SFI submitted a memorandum pertaining to the BC welfare hostels to the Deputy Director of BC Welfare department, Hrushikesh Reddy.
T Nagaraju alleged that many hostels do not have toilets and bathrooms apart from that there are only one or two workers in many hostels who are maintaining the entire hostel.
The premises of many hostels are unhygienic and students suffering with health issues. In some hostels, there are no proper arrangement for the drinking water and fans in room, he added.
The Boys BC Welfare hostel that is present in the Mustafanagar does not have toilets as per the students’ ratio due to which many students face problems. Moreover, there is only oner worker in the hostel who is doing all the works, he pointed.
He demanded the government to take immediate action and provide all the basic facilities in the BC hostels. Otherwise, they would intensify the agitation to teach the government a fitting lesson, he warned. The representatives of SFI co-convenor Gayatri, Praveen, Mahesh, Sai, Prashanth, Uday and Mastan and other were present.
