New RUB works at Hi-Tec City soon
Hyderabad: The works of the new Railway under Bridge (RUB) will start soon near Hi-Tec City MMTS Station. GHMC, in association with Railways, is implementing the project. GHMC has also indicated to remove the barriers for the construction of the new 4-lane RUB. The old RUB has issues because of heavy water-logging that led to heavy traffic jams from Hitec City to Kukatpally during rainy days. Nala, which overflows regularly under old RUB, has also become a serious concern.
West Zone Commissioner of GHMC Hari Chandana Dasari said, “The authorities are moving ahead with the process of constructing a new RUB near the Hitec City MMTS Railway Station. The new RUB is going to be a more advanced one with four lanes. The cost of the project is estimated to be Rs 59 crore.” She said that the old RUB, which connects Hitec City to Kukatpally, is only a one-lane route. Due to the accumulation of rainwater, sewage water overflows on to the road. So, the GHMC will resolve the issue by diverging the nala.
Most commuters who use the route are software engineers. They face a lot of inconvenience due to the traffic jams. Keeping the situations in mind, the GHMC and chief bridge engineers of Railways have proposed the idea of constructing new RUB with 4 lanes. Executive Engineer of GHMC Mohan Reddy, speaking to The Hans India, said that the new RUB will be ready to use by the end of 2019. According to the plan, the railways are in action. Then the GHMC will take up the work.
