IFWJ convention in city in June
Basheerbagh: Indian Federation of Working Journalists social media in-charge and vice president of Uttar Pradesh working journalists union K Vishwadev held meeting with the members of Telangnana working journalists’ federation (TWJF) during his visit to Hyderabad on Sunday.
Speaking at the meeting, he said that the federation is conducting studies on journalist issues across the nation. He also informed that their national conventions would be held in Rajasthan during March 8-10 and in Hyderabad in the month of June.
He said that various programs are being planned for formulating a law to prevent attacks on journalists. He said that the federation would bring pressure on the central government to pass the proposed draft bill which has already been presented in the parliament to prevent attacks on journalists.
As part of this, members of TWJF were told to organise a national convention in Hyderabad in the month of June, he said. National meetings would also be held in Rajasthan from March 8 to 10 and representatives of journalists from various parties are expected to attend the meetings, he said.
He urged the state journalist bodies to ensure that their respective state governments take part in passing the proposed bill in the Parliament.
