Basheerbagh: The Nava Telangana Student Unity (NTSU) has demanded 30 per cent of allocations to the education sector in the upcoming budget. Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday, the president of the organisation Byru Ngaraju Goud said the state government has been reducing the grants to the education sector as per the recommendations of the Kothari Commission.
It is an attempt to force the marginalised sections away from the education. He questioned why the government is keen on encouraging private universities by neglecting higher education. He demanded immediate release of pending dues of scholarships. State secretary Ashok, Anil, Ananthiah, Sudhakar, Shivaji, Mallesh and others were present.
