Shias organise Majlis-e-Aza

Darusshifa: Shia Muslims in Old City commemorated the ‘Martyrdom of Bibi Fatima,’ the daughter of Prophet Muhammad. This was attended by international fame Nouha Khan (threnody), Nadeem Sarwar and his two sons, while Moulana Syed Zaighum Razvi from Iran addressed the gathering at the event organised at Aza Khane Zehra in Darusshifa.

As Shia Muslims believe that Bibi Fatima was martyred, a 3-day mourning is observed every year in the city. This year, the annual Majlis-e-Aza was attended by Threnodist Nadeem Sarwar, a native of Pakistan and Australian citizen, and his sons Ali Shanwar and Ali Jee who have come all the way from Sydney to the city for taking part in Majlis.

Devotees from different parts of country like Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai ,Nagpur Gujarat , Bangalore, Chennai and Andhra Pradesh attended the Majils which was organised by Syed Mazhar Ali Moosvi and Syed Talab Ali Moosvi.
