Two Hyderabad cops shunted out, inquiry ordered

Hyderabad: Two police officers were on Tuesday transferred on the allegations that they had cooperated with Rakesh Reddy, who is the prime accused in the murder of NRI Industrialist Chigurupati Jayaram. 

Andhra Pradesh Police, according to sources, communicated to their counterparts in Telangana  State that Rakesh Reddy spoketo two police officers after committing the murder. AP police claimed to have found the evidence during the checking of call data of Rakesh Reddy.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar transferred Nallakunta SHO S Srinivasulu on Monday and ordered for a departmental inquiry by the higher officials. On Tuesday when reports came from the AP police, the Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat attached Ibrahimpatnam ACP S Malla Reddy to the Civil Police Lines Special Armed Reserve (CPL-SAR) atAmberpet. C Gandhinarayana, ACP, Vanasthalipuram, has been given additional charge as ACP, Ibrahimpatnam.  

Earlier ACP Malla Reddy on Tuesday agreed that the suspect in the businessman’s murder called him up on phone and told him that two persons had fought with each other in his house and one of themhad been injured. Malla Reddy said he had advised Rakesh Reddy to inform the incident to the local police. He denied that the accused had told him about the murder of Jayaram.
