Collector G Hanumantha Rao, MLA Manik Rao inspect urban park progress
Zaheerabad: District Collector G Hanumantha Rao, along with MLA Manik Rao, visited the urban park here on Wednesday. Both inspected the development works and planted saplings on the occasion.
The Collector said the park would be developed in 200 acres at a cost of Rs 6 crore. "We are trying to complete the works within 100 days," he said. One acre of the park is dedicated to playground for children. A well is also being set up for 'Bathukamma.' Former councillor Nama Ravikiran, leaders Israel Babi, Anantha Naveen and officials were present.
Forest department personnel mistakenly changed the initial of the District Collector on the name plate at the sapling planted by him. Instead of writing M Hanumantha Rao, the forest staff spelt the name as G Hanumantha Rao. Even higher-ups failed to check the goof-up in time, commented people who attended the inauguration of urban park here on Wednesday.
