DGP Mahendar Reddy holds a second meeting with OSCC
Hyderabad: Director General of Police (DGP) M Mahendar Reddy on Thursday held second meeting with On-Shore Security Coordination Committee (OSCC) members. The OSCC was constituted by Government of Telangana with DGP as Chairman and members drawn from Police, Civil Administration and representatives of various Oil Sector Companies in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Government of India to ensure security of oil and gas installations in the State.
The DGP said all measures would be taken to have pilferage-free transportation and 100 per cent incident-free operations by the oil sector companies in the State. Various issues concerning the security were discussed including the upcoming projects in Telangana.
The DGP exhorted that the entire effort of OSCC would be operationalised so as to get the best out of systemic efforts. The meeting decided to have a focused approach by associating the concerned unit officers namely SPs Nalgonda, Suryapet, DSPs Yadadri, Malkajgiri, CPs Khammam and Warangal.
On the request of oil companies, the DGP nominated DCP Malkajgiri to coordinate with companies to monitor issues at Cherlapalli, if required Rachakonda CP Mahesh M Bhagwat to intervene.
Further, Rachakonda Commissioner directed to have a conference with all his subordinates besides stakeholders to sensitise them on possible consequences of lack of safety. To tackle complaints of pilferage, to share information and act on complaints the SHO's will be sensitised.
Later, the oil sector companies thanked police officials in solving a case of pilferage of diesel from a fuel pipeline at Rampally in January 2019. The Advisor (security), Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) Pramod Kumar, the Convenor of the Committee, ADGP CID, Hyderabad and Rachakonda Police Commissioners, Hyderabad Joint Collector, IGPs Intelligence, DIGs Counter Intelligence Cell, Intelligence, Nizamabad Range, Director Mines, Senior representatives of GAIL, HPCL, BPCL, IOCL, and ONGC attended the meeting.
