ECIL ships first consignment of power converters to Germany

Hyderabad: The First lot of 67 power converters which are manufactured by Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) were shipped to Germany on Wednesday. Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) Technical Managing Director Jörg Blaurock flagged off the first production lot of Ultra Stable High Power Converters in the presence of ECIL Chairman and Managing Director Rear Admiral Sanjay Chaubey (retired) here.

Currently ECIL is working with major international discovery science program called Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) which is coming up at Darmstadt, Germany. This programme is envisaged for studying the building blocks of matter and evolution of the universe.

Other contributing nations include Austria, China, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden. India will contribute about 36 Million Euros in the form of high technology equipment for FAIR programme.
