GHMC Elections 2020 Voting Day Live Updates: 35.80% as on 5PM. Corona scare and extended weekend made less Hyderabadis to come out and vote
All the arrangements have been made for Greater Hyderabad Municipal Elections tomorrow. As many as 74,67,256 persons will cast their vote. Of the total, 38,89,637 are men voters and 35,76,941 are women voters. The polling will commence at 7 am and conclude at 6 pm.
As many as 9,101 polling centres have been arranged in 150 wards in which 1,122 candidates are contesting in GHMC elections. For the smooth conduct of the election, 60 flying squads two each for a GHMC circle and 30 surveillance team, one each for a GHMC circle has been constituted. Besides, 36,404 personnel have been deployed for polling duty.

What do I need to carry as Identity Proof to cast vote?
all the voters who have been issued photo identity cards have to produce them at the polling centres to exercise their vote and those who are unable to produce them have to show any one of the 18 alternative photo identity card documents except photo voter slips to prove their identity.
What arrangements are made at the Polling Booths?
Basic facilities like sanitising rooms, providing electricity, CCTV cameras, water cans, sanitisers are being installed. The polling staff have been given safety kits which include face masks, gloves and sanitisers. There will be thermal guns at the entrance of every polling station. Every person's temperature will be checked before voting.
