Hyderabad: FAR leaders meet TS DGP, demand withdrawal of cases

Hyderabad: The leaders of Forum Against Repression (FAR) on Saturday met Director General of Police (DGP) M Mahendar Reddy and demanded immediate withdrawal of cases under IPC and UAPA against the arrested leaders belongs to different people's organisations.

They requested to stop the further arrests of the leaders belongs to people's groups and allow the organisations to freely conduct the public meetings, dharnas and demonstrations.

Speaking to the media at DGP office premises in Hyderabad, FAR Convenor Professor G Haragopal alleged that the State government is completely failed to fulfil the aspirations of the suffering people.

Due to which the people's organisations came out and are supporting the agitations of the suppressed people which is their responsibility and constitutional right.

But, the State government with their police force has been arresting the leaders on the pretext of preventive measure, imposing section 30 and section 144 freely without valid grounds.

They were taking the leaders into their custody at midnight by breaking doors and raiding and locking down the offices of people's organisations.
