Hyderabad: RTC convenor Ashwathama Reddy stages indefinite hunger strike

After the police beefed up security at TSRTC convenor Ashwathama Reddy's house to prevent him from heading to Indra Park, Reddy staged an indefinite hunger strike at his residence in Urmilanagar of Meerpet.

Ashwathama said that he will continue the hunger strike although if the police arrested him. He further clarified that the strike will be continued until the government calls the RTC unions for talks.

The police surrounded his home on Friday night after he called for an indefinite hunger strike at Indra Park today. Meanwhile, the police also tightened the security at RTC crossroads, Bus Bhavan, VST, Ramnagar crossroads, Vidyanagar. Barricades were set up in these areas and the vehicles are also being checked.

Security is also imposed at Employees' union office and TJMU office.
