Hyderabad: Alleging double standards by BJP leaders on Andhra Pradesh government's move to lift 3 tmc water from Pothireddypadu, the TRS on Tuesday demanded BJP leaders to convince their leaders in Delhi to stop proposed move.

In a video message, Government Whip Karne Prabhakar said that the Telangana BJP leaders are opposing the move to lift waters from Srisailam whereas their own party leaders in Andhra Pradesh are welcoming. "The Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay should question their Andhra leaders first. The BJP leaders from both the States are having different opinions on the issue, which shows double standards of a national party," said Prabhakar, asking the national leadership of BJP to clarify their stand.

He also said that it is better for Bandi Sanjay to talk on Pothireddypadu only after getting one voice within his party. The TRS leader said that TRS was aware not only about the Pothireddypadu but also on the Telangana's share in Krishna and Godavari rivers. "We have fought against illegal diversion of water from Telangana. We will not keep quiet even if a single drop of water is taken away. We are condemning the government's decision," said Prabhakar.

He said that the Chief Minister KCR has already talked to the irrigation experts and would be fighting against the AP government in Brijesh Kumar tribunal and also in the Supreme Court.
