Karimnagar: City Mayor launches Rs.1 Anthima Yatra scheme
Karimangar-16 : The prestigious scheme 'Anthima Yatra' for Rs.1 of Karimnagar Municipal Corporation that was announced by the City mayor Ravinder Singh was launched by him here in Karimnagar on Sunday.
It is to be noted that the City Mayor Ravinder Singh introduced a unique scheme in the name of 'Anthima Yatra' for middle and poor class families who can able to bear money for the final rites of the dead bodies of their dear and near ones for Rs.1 which has turned as a gift for them.
The City mayor Ravinder singh launched the scheme here in 27 division, Bavaninagar by attending to the final rites of Macharla Lalitha native of Katta Srirmapur. The family members of Macharla Lalitha paid Rs.1 for KMC and applied for the scheme.
Speaking on the occasion, City Mayor Ravinder Singh explained the people about the benefits of the scheme and facilities that are provided under the scheme.
Conducting final rites of dead persons is the social responsibility and is considered as sacred activity. The scheme is launched keeping in view of the poor who can afford money for even final rites of dead one of their dear ones. About Rs.1.5 crores of rupees are allotted for successfully running the scheme along with purchasing two vehicles.
For conducting the final rites for each dead body as per the tradition, it costs about Rs.6,000 to Rs.10,000 and the amount would be bear by KMC. This scheme would be applicable for every one irrespective of caste and religion.
The Sanitation supervisor, Venu Gopal, Jawan Thyagaraj, TRS leader Sohan participated in the final rites conducted by KMC under Anthima Yatra Scheme.
