Khammam: Top cop calls for more awareness on traffic rules
Khammam: Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal has conducted a review meeting on road accidents with the police officers on Tuesday at his office. Speaking on the occasion, he stated that the road accidents were increasing day-by-day and many were losing their lives due to injuries to head. He suggested the police officers to take concrete steps to avert accidents and said that every two-wheeler rider should wear a helmet.
Calling for conducting more awareness programmes on importance of wearing helmets, the Commissioner said as part of publicity and awareness, banners and flexis should be arranged highlighting the slogan of "No Helmet, No Petrol" at all petrol bunks. He directed the police officers' to conduct special drives on drunk driving. Suggesting the use of speed guns in the night to keep a tab on fast-moving vehicles, the Commissioner directed the officials to take stringent action against those auto-rickshaws that overload the vehicles with passengers.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Madhava Rao, Assistant Commissioners Ganesh, Venkat Reddy, Prasanna Kumar, Venkat Rao, Satyanarayana and Venkatesh and Circle Inspector Siva Sambhi Reddy attended the meeting.
