Navaratri fete begins at Bhadrakali shrine in Warangal
Warangal: The Sharan Navaratri Mahotsavam has begun on a grand note at the historic Bhadrakali temple here on Sunday. The Dhwajarohanam and Kalasa stapana rituals were conducted by temple chief priest Bhadrakali Seshu to mark the beginning of nine-day event.
Devotees in large numbers turned to temple to have darshan of the presiding deity in the form of 'Bala Tripura Sundari'. Government Chief Whip Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar along with his family took part in the inaugural rituals.
The ornaments which were presented by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao were taken to Rudreshwara Swamy temple, also known as 1000 Pillar temple. It may be mentioned here that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had offered 11.5 kg gold ornaments worth Rs 3.7 crore to Goddess Bhadrakali during the Navaratra festival in 2016.
Following the rituals, the ornaments were taken to the Bhadrakali temple in a procession. Scores of devotees took part in the procession marked by chants of 'Bhadrakali Sharanam Mama'. The priests performed Mruga Vahana Seva in the evening.
