Karimnagar: Print publisher and printer names on the wallposters and pamphlets used for campaigning, District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed directed the candidates, contesting in the coming up Lok Sabha elections. He held a meeting with the owners of printing press and representatives of various political parties at the Collectorate conference hall in Karimnagar on Thursday.

The Collector said that the owners of printing press must follow the rules and regulations issued by the Election Commission of India as per Section 127-ARP (Representation of People) Act, 1951. He suggested the printers to take the declaration from the publishers and from another two persons of the respective party. The printers must print publisher and printer names along with address and number of posters and pamphlets they published.

They must also submit three copies each of the published material to the District Election Officer and the representatives of political parties must submit complete details to the printers and must extend their cooperation for the smooth going of elections. Action would be taken against printing press owners, who violate Section 127-ARP (Representation of People) Act, 1951, the Collector warned. Assistant Collector Rajarshi Shah, District Revenue Officer Bikshu Nayak and others were present at the meeting.
