Hyderabad: The Telangana State Private Teachers Forum (TSPTF), president Sheik Shabbir Ali sought the intervention of the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC), to order an inquiry into the illegal disposal of government records by the District Education Officer, Hyderabad.

In his complaint on Thursday, he said that the District Education Officer (DEO), Hyderabad has ordered the sale of 1,700 kilograms of office files and 22 quintals of the office scrap of the District Education Office.

This, he said, "has been done in violation of the Public Records Act 1997 and Digital Services Bill, 2012." Ali said that the said records were sold on December 9 and 22, even on a Sunday, which is a holiday for the government offices.

He alleged that the DEO had willfully disposed of the said government files to hush up the irregularities in the issue of Extension of Temporary Registration (ETR) to the private schools and the establishment of the Urban Residential Schools (URS).

The complainant asked the SHRC to order for an inquiry and unearth the irregularities and take necessary action against the erring official.
