Women must participate in 30-day action plan: CMO Secretary Smita Sabharwal

Rajanna Siricilla: The Chief Ministers Office Secretary, Smitha Sabharwal on Monday appealed to the women to participate in large number in the 30-day Action Plan that was introduced by the State government for the development of villages.

She inspected the implementation of the programme at grass-root level by visiting Buddenepalli village of Thunagalapalli mandal here in Rajanna Siricilla district. She planted a sapling on the occasion and later participated in the Grama Sabha held in the village.

Speaking in the meeting, CM Office secretary Smitha Sabharwal said that the 30-day Action Plan is being implemented with an aim to increase the green cover and making the villages neat and tidy. It can be achieved only with the participation of people in large numbers especially women.

Along with the planting of saplings in large number, the villagers must take necessary steps for giving protection to them. If the villages are neat and tidy then the people will live a healthy life. So, it is the responsibility of the villagers to keep their village neat and tidy, she suggested.

For developing the villages, along with the officials, the villages must prepare one-year and five-year action plans and work in coordination with each other to lead the villages towards development, she added.

The villagers brought to the notice of the CM Office Secretary Smitha Sabharwal that the dirty water is being supplied through Mission bhageeratha pipelines and by drinking the contaminated water many people are falling ill. Responding immediately, she ordered the officials concern to look into the matter and solve the issue immediately.

The OSD Priyanak Warghese, District Collector Krishna Bhaskar, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Commissioner Raghunathan Rao, ZP Chairperson N Aruna, ZP CEO Gautham Reddy, DPO Ravinder and local public representatives were present on the occasion.
