100% use of fly ash in houses construction

Visakhapatnam: Group General Manager of Simhadri Super Thermal Power Plant of NTPC A R Maiti has said that the fly ash of thermal plants would be used largely in the construction of houses and laying of roads. According NTPC's strong policy, the fly ash would be utilised at maximum level in construction of houses and in laying of new roads in the near future, Maiti added.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, the Group General Manager said that one of the entrepreneurs of Visakhapatnam, Kalidas has submitted a report for construction of nano houses with 100 per cent utilisation of fly ash which is correctly suitable for housing sector.

The Ramagundam plant of NTPC has recently laid a new road by using 100 per cent fly ash material and registered 100 per cent successful results, he added. Talking about the Simhadri Power Plant, he said that at present, the fly ash is being utilised 100 per cent for the last two years.

The plant is registering zero demurrage charges since October, 2018 and zero accident results bagged for the past 582 days, the GGM claimed. Under the Corporate Social Responsibility, the Simhadri Power Plant stood in number one place by taking up all the society based needs including health, education, women empowerment, skill development, sanitation and plantation, Maiti said.
