Simhadri thermal plant running with full force

Visakhapatnam: Simhadri Super Thermal Power Plant (SSTPP) of NTPC, Group General Manager Arupratan Maiti said that the plant was utilising the 100 per cent ash and stands at second position of forced outage at 0.69 percent.   

The SSTPP celebrated the 70th Republic Day with great zeal and fervour on Saturday. While hoisting the national flag at the celebrations, Arupratan Maiti said that the unit-2 was running continuously for the last 335 days and have saved unit-3 LP turbine timely intervening. 

The GGM emphasised on the significance of R-Day backsides highlighting the glorious history of country’s freedom fighters as well as NTPC contribution in the development of the country.

He revealed about the SSTPP's CSR activities including scholarships, study materials, and infrastructure to the locals' educational institutions and distribution of sanitary napkins to around 2,400 girl students of all the 14 government schools and Junior Colleges every month spread in the vicinity of the plant.
