Aids, appliances distributed; sports meets conducted
Visakhapatnam: Simhadri Super Thermal Power Plant (SSTPP) of NTPC, as a part of its CSR activities distributed aids and appliances to differently-abled persons of Parawada mandal on Monday on the occasion of the International Day of Disabled Persons.
Pendurthy MLA Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy and Arupratan Maiti, Group General Manager, SSTPP, distributed motorised tricycles, tricycles, customised prosthetic legs and caliper shoes for orthopedically challenged persons.
Hearing aids were distributed to hearing impaired persons and smart canes for the visually challenged persons. Wheel chairs and MR kits were distributed to needy children studying at the Inclusive education resource centre at Parawada.
The total value of appliances distributed is around Rs 5.98 lakh and they were procured from ALIMCO. Speaking on the occasion, MLA Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy appreciated CSR activities of NTPC.
The requirements of these differently-abled persons were indentified through an assessment camps which were organised by NTPC CSR Dept with the help of ALIMCO and the office of MPDO.
SSTPP senior officials including S P Singh Virk, Dr G C Mondal, V Shiva Prasad, ZPTC P Jagannadh Rao, Parawada MPP M Appala Naidu and MPDO K Karuna Kumari were present.
Swati Maiti, president, Deepika Ladies Club, and office-bearers of Deepika Ladies Club, beneficiaries along with their escorts and employees of NTPC, Simhadri and also staff of ALIMCO were present on the occasion.
