Amma Vodi aims to educate children: Perni Nani
Vijayawada: Minister for Transport, Information and Public Relations Perni Venkata Ramaiah (Nani) said that education is the right of every child and that will be fulfilled under the 'Amma Vodi' programme announced by the state government. He participated in Rajanna Badibata programme at Mandal Parishad Primary School, Sultanagaram, Machilipatnam.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that education has become a very costly affair and the poor people are not able to send their children to schools and make them educated and the dropouts in the state are gradually increasing.
He also stated that education should not be a burden for anyone and to overcome that problem Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy designed the programme 'Amma Vodi'. He further said that the Amma Vodi programme has been designed to sensitise the parents and create awareness about the need for education. Financial support of Rs 15,000 would be distributed under the programme which would start soon, he announced.
