Andhra University proposes 616.04 cr annual budget for 2019-20
Visakhapatnam: An academic senate meeting was held at Andhra University on Thursday to decide the annual budget for the next academic year. Vice-Chancellor G Nageswara Rao proposed a Rs 616.04 crore budget for 2019-20. The varsity will receive Rs408.24 crore from UGC Block Grant and Rs 207.8 crore from internal funds of the university.
From the next academic year, Andhra University is going to start civil branch in six-year integrated engineering course, one-year PG Diploma course in Journalism, BA oriental language course in M R Oriental College, fitness course for Defence officials, six-months Yoga certificate course, part-time and full-time PhD opportunities to CA students from the Department of Commerce.
The university will construct new blocks and upgrade others blocks for the purpose. Rector of University M Prasada Rao, Registrar K Niranjan, former VCs and senate members were present.
