Visakhapatnam: In a stress-laden life, books continue to offer solace to people, VMRDA Chairman Dronamraju Srinviasa Rao has said. Inaugurating the 'Visakha Pusthaka Mahotsavam,' a 24-day book exhibition organised by Visalandhra Book House at Turner's Choultry on Friday, the Chairman said despite the digital age, books play an imperative role in spreading the knowledge and absorbing the content better.

He urged youngsters to know about history and draw inspiration from successful leaders by reading about them. Further, he told them to inculcate the habit of reading and promote its benefits among their friends.

After browsing through the books, Head of the Department of Telugu, AVN College Ayyagari Sitaratnam stated that reading offers a much-required break from daily grind. "Nothing replaces the joy of flipping through the pages of a book before calling it a day," she said. Being a voracious reader herself, she mentioned that it aids in sharing the joy of reading with her students as well.
