Book exhibition on Maulana inaugurated

Hyderabad: A book exhibition dedicated to the first education minister of Independent India, Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad was inaugurated at Saiyid Hamid Central Library, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) Campus on Wednesday.

Professor Ayub Khan, Pro Vice-Chancellor, inaugurated the display of books written by Maulana Azad and books written on him. He paid rich tributes to the legendary freedom fighter and reminded that the institutions established by Maulana Azad were still playing an important role in the education system of the country. Dr Mohammed Abbas Khan, Deputy Librarian and Co-ordinator welcomed the guests. The exhibition will be continued till November 8.

Earlier, a Bait Bazi (Literary Antakshri) was held at DDE Auditorium on Tuesday. 14 teams, each consisting of three members and named after one eminent poet, participated. Team Kishwar Naheed, consisting of Arshia Tanzeem, Zille Huma and Ayesha Habeeb, was declared as winners. Professor Md Abdul Sami Siddiqui and Dr Mosarrat Jahan were the judges of the Bait Bazi.
