Collector inspects NREGS works

Kurnool: District Collector S Satyanarayana called upon the people to make use of the social welfare schemes to strengthen their financial status. He made a surprise visit to Kothapalli village in Devanakonda mandal and inspected the ongoing National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) works on Thursday.

Later, speaking to the workers, the Collector assured them of providing works under the NREGS. He inspected the job cards provided to them and enquired with them about any irregularities in getting pensions and ration cards. They informed the Collector that they did not face any difficulties to get pensions and ration cards.

But the workers brought to the notice of the Collector about the irregular payment of wages. The Collector has directed the District Water Management Agency (DWMA) authorities to provide works under the NREGS to the villagers and prevent migration from the district. He also directed officials to make regular payment to the workers.
