LG Polymers India express apologies on Vizag gas leak incident
LG Polymers India has expressed condolences and apologies to all those affected by the gas leakage in Vishakapatnam. In a statement issued on Friday, the company said that they are looking for the cause of the incident.
"Preliminary investigations said that the incident occurred due to the gas leakage from Styrene Monomer (SM) storage tank near the GPPS (General Purpose Poly Styrene) factory in the wee hours on Thursday," the release said.
The company further stated that they will extend all the possible support to ensure people and their families who have been affected by the incident are taken care of. "Our teams are working day and night with the government to assess the impact of the damage caused and create concrete measures to deliver an effective care package that can be implemented immediately," it said adding that the team has the responsibility to accord support for the deceased, medical supplies and household goods.
The company also thanked the police and government who have worked very hard to rescue and recover the victims.
