Ongole: MCDKPS demands leather parks, loans

Ongole: The members of the Madiga Charmakarulu Dappu Kalakarula Porata Samiti (MCDKPS) staged a protest in front of the district collectorate on Tuesday, demanding that the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy keep his promises made during his padayatra.

Speaking at the protest, the MCDKPS founder president Reddepogu Guravaiah Madiga, president Jandrajupalli Anjaneyulu Madiga demanded that the government reinstate the Malupu program for the welfare of cobblers.

They demanded the construction of a Leather Technology Training Institute on a 100-acre land in Amaravati, allot 500 acres for the mega leather park in Donakonda Mega Industrial Hub, allot 25 acres of land in all revenue divisions. They also demanded the government to allot Rs 1000 crores funds for the development of leather industries through the LIDCAP and a pension of Rs 4,000 pension to cobblers and drum artists.
