Symposium on Holistic Diabetic Diet held in Tirupati

Tirupati: A symposium on 'Holistic Diabetic Diet for India' was held jointly by Rasthriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha (RSVP) and Arogya Bharathi, Tirupati on Thursday on the occasion of World Diabetes Day. The aim of the symposium was to bring awareness on early identification of diabetes and to take care of medicines and preventive measures.

Speaking at the event, RSVP Vice-Chancellor Prof V Muralidhara Sharma said that to become healthy, one should be physically, mentally and socially good as per World Health Organisation. This was already imbibed by Indians long back in scriptures which say that a person should have balanced attitude in Sattva, Rajas and Tamo guna.

Arogya Bharathi's Kshetra Sangatana Mantri Kumara Swamy has said that one should be careful about their health and take care of all precautions when they are diagnosed with diabetes.

Aarogya Bharathi organiser Dr P Krishna Prasanthi stressed the importance of holistic diet for diabetic patients and lifestyle modifications in the prevention of diabetes. The Head of General Medicine Department in SVIMS Dr Alladi Mohan has explained about the disease and the steps to be taken to keep it in control.

The Head of Panchakarma department in SV Ayurveda College Dr P Murali Krishna underlined the importance of physical exercise. Dr Renu Dikshit of SV Ayurveda College, BJP State Secretary G Bhanuprakash Reddy and others also spoke on the occasion.
