TDP leaders pay tributes to NTR

Ongole: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders and the fans of former Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao in the Prakasam district celebrated the latter's 96th birth anniversary on Tuesday. Being the birth anniversary coming just immediately after the massive defeat, many of the Telugu Desam party workers didn't turn up for the celebrations.

But, leaders like former Minister Siddha Raghavarao, district party president Damacharla Janardhana Rao, former Kanigiri MLA Mukku Ugranarasimha Reddy, Kamepalli Srinu, Darapuneni Chandrasekhar and others garlanded the statue of the NTR at the district party office and paid rich tributes.

Raghavarao and Janardhana Rao assured the party workers, that there would be good days ahead and asked them to not lose confidence. They said that they would be available to the party workers and common people to fight on public issues.

After paying tributes to the NTR statue at the Clock Tower in Darsi, former MLA Narapusetty Paparao praised the NTR as the pride of Telugus and the man who introduced welfare programmes for the poor. After garlanding the NTR statue, Parchur MLA Yeluri Sambasiva Rao said that Telugu Desam party will always be on the side of poor people and work for their welfare. The birth anniversary of NTR is celebrated at other places in the district also.
