Vijayawada: Govt to support HIV patients, says Collector Mohammad Imtiaz
Vijayawada: District Collector Mohammad Imtiaz said that the State government would support the people infected with HIV. He was participating in a breakfast meeting with children infected with HIV at the District Collector's camp office to mark World AIDS Day in Vijayawada on Sunday.
He spoke to the children and asked about their problems and instructed the authorities concerned to solve a few of their issues immediately. He said that he would extend support to the HIV infected patients, special funds should be allocated to support these patients, opined the collector.
He told them to utlise the government schemes and appealed to the officials that each one adopt a HIV infected child. He enquired about the services rendered by the AIDS control society and told them to improve their service.
Additional DMHO Dr J Usha Rani said brought a few issues of HIV infected children to the notice of the collector and the collector responded positively. Joint Collector Dr K Madhavilatha, Joint Collector-II K Mohan Kumar, DMHO Dr TSR Murthy and others were present on the occasion.
