Vijayawada: Spend allotted funds for development, TPA tells VMC Secretary MV Anjaneyulu
Vijayawada: The members of Tax Payers Association demanded that the VMC authorities spend Rs 50.97 crore released by the State government for developing infrastructure. In this regard a memorandum was handed over to the VMC Commissioner, said the TPA secretary MV Anjaneyulu here on Thursday.
Addressing the media persons, he said that a GO RT No 738 was released on December 2 by the state government for the development of basic infrastructure facilities in the city. He said that to develop the city, construction of footpaths on the main roads was important and crucial. He said roads, footpaths, storm water drainage manholes should be developed in a modern way.
Providing parking lots to solve traffic problems in the city, improve traffic signaling for the pedestrians to cross the roads and underground electrification would help in improving the situation. He said that in this regard, they had made protest against the VMC.TPA president V Sambi Reddy, treasurer Raju and others were present.
