Land to Sri Raghavendra Swamy mutt: Government asked to withdraw order
Vijayawada: The Tax Payers Association has demanded that the government cancel and take back their orders on allocating site for construction of Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt.
Speaking to the media persons here on Friday, MV Anjaneyulu, secretary, Tax Payers association said that the association had written a letter relating to this issue to the Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban development.
He informed that the site at Brundavan Colony (about 1052.86 square yards) was allotted to Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt. On their requisition, the Municipal Commissioner kept the same in the Council Resolution and the Council has not accepted the proposal.
Now the tax payers alleged that the State Government had issued a GO by cancelling the Council’s resolution and allotted the same land to the Mutt which was objectionable.
Tax Payers Association president V Sambi Reddy said that the Government had no authority to cancel the Council resolution. He demanded that the government cancel the GO and continue the Council’s resolution.
